The 2024 Dream Serenade Summer Bursary will be open to eligible families from Monday May 6th @ 10AM until Thursday May 30th @ 5PM.  This year, bursary recipients will be selected by lottery. Successful applicants will be notified on Monday June 3rd via email. 

In an effort to provide support to as many families as possible, only ONE application per student will be considered in the lottery and only ONE bursary will be allocated per household.  

Who is eligible?

Any TDSB student with a developmental disability who is enrolled in a congregated school or an eligible DD ISP program. We are looking to support families that would most benefit from some additional financial support. Each eligible school has a set number of bursaries allocated.

How much is available and what can it be used for?
A $500 bursary is available per family and may be used towards expenses related to enhancing the student's summer including: summer camp fees, activities, caregiving or support worker for outings, required transportation or equipment. Cheques will be mailed out in June 2024.

2023 Dream Serenade Summer Bursary

Thanks to the generous support of donors and the Dream Serenade community at last year's return to Massey Hall event, we were able to reinstate the Dream Serenade Summer Bursary program for 2023 and offer more support to families around the GTA than ever before with our largest distribution of funds to date! The Dream Serenade Summer Bursary is an initiative intended to provide financial support for Toronto area students with exceptionalities and their families to access summer programs or enhance their summer experience.

The Dream Serenade Summer Bursary returned to its full $500 per recipient and a total of 200 bursaries were distributed to families across the GTA, reaching 60 different schools. This year, in an effort to reach the people most in need of support, we worked with 59 social workers who helped identify families who could most benefit from a Dream Serenade Bursary- 104 bursaries were distributed through social worker nominations. We also maintained the public application so families could apply online for support, as in past years. 96 bursaries were distributed through our online application.
